2013 Grant Awarded to Pikes Peak Permaculture!

Pikes Peak Permaculture built a waterwise garden to be used for education about sustainable landscaping.

2012 Grant Awarded to Pikes Peak Community College!

Pikes Peak Community College Hydration Station The Plan:

  • “Tap into the reusable.”
  • Install 6 hydrations stations at our Rampart Range Campus, Downtown Studio Campus and Centennial Campus (2 stations at each).
  • According to Food and Water Watch, a non-profit organization that advocates for safe and affordable drinking water, more than 17 million barrels of oil –enough to fuel a million cars for a year—are needed to produce the plastic water bottles sold annually in the United States.

67,000+ hydration station REUSABLE water bottle fills
46 tons of waste recycled in 2012
Since 2011, plastic water bottle sales decreased 18.84%
Since 2011, reusable water bottle sales increased 132.8%

2011 Grant Awarded to Care and Share for their Passive Solar Greenhouse project!
