Congratulations to our 2013 Pikes Peak Earth Day Community Grant recipient:
Pikes Peak Permaculture is creating a a water-wise, whole-system garden that demonstrates how to grow a sustainable garden with food in our very low water times. Volunteers and visitors will see examples of permaculture in action like using native plants building “sponges” to absorb water, using earthworks to move water through the landscape and creating an overall enticing habitat for critters while people a food harvest as well!
Pikes Peak Earth Day is awards a matching grant up to $5000 towards one project in the Pike Peak region that meets the mission to “celebrate our Earth by enhancing awareness and inspiring personal and community action toward a sustainable future”.
Projects must be sponsored by tax-deductible organizations including schools, churches, government and other 501(c)(3) organizations, and be within El Paso County.
